Orthotics can feel “different” at first because they change mechanics. Build up gradually:
Day 1: Wear no longer than 1 hour
Day 2: Wear no longer than 1 hour
Day 3: Wear no longer than 2 hours
Day 4: Do not wear (take a break)
Day 5: Wear no longer than 3 hours
Day 6: Wear no longer than 5 hours
Day 7: Do not wear (take a break)
Day 8: Wear no longer than 7 hours
Day 9: Wear no longer than 9 hours
Day 10: Do not wear (take a break)
Day 11: Wear up to 10 hours
Avoid intense activity during the break-in period.

Remove your existing shoe insole if possible, line up heel-to-heel and along the inside edge, trace, then trim along the OUTSIDE of the traced line. Trim a little at a time and test the fit.

Wash periodically with soap and warm water. Air dry only. Do not soak them in liquid and do not use heat (hair dryer, clothing dryer, heat gun, heat lamp) to dry.

Lifespan depends on activity level, size, and frequency of use. Padding and top covers usually wear before the shell. When you notice excessive wear or reduced comfort/support, it’s time to replace them.
